1916
1916

Palmer Timber was established by William Henry Palmer, based in Old Hill and focused on dealing in homegrown hardwoods.

In the early 1970s William’s grandson “Bill” began to import timber from Scandinavia and North America which led to significant growth in the business.

Palmers used this opportunity to expand, modernise their facilities and machinery which is still very much part of the business today.

1972
1972

In a converted chicken shed on a farm in Worcestershire, Doug Pound created D.W. Pound Garden Buildings, making and selling sheds and summerhouses.

As business grew, D.W. Pound became a key customer of Palmer Timber and relationships were formed.

1994
1994

After 20 years of trading, Doug Pound decided to sell up and retire, Palmer Timber took this opportunity to expand further and bought the business which it still owns today.

1998
1998

The Company invested heavily in a new 8,000 square-feet, modern window and door production facility, using the latest woodworking machines to produce some of the highest quality doors and windows in the industry.

2002

“The Malvern Collection”. A rebrand is undertaken, and the new trading name is established providing the foundations for our business today.

2004
2004

The introduction of our “hand sprayed” buildings. Our paint spraying shop is one of the most advanced spraying and drying facilities in the garden building industry.

2023
2023

Today our factory occupies a four acre site and employs 140 people, including teams of experienced installers, producing the most comprehensive range of garden buildings in the industry, displayed throughout the country on multiple established show sites.
